Since joining Wheelhouse in 2017, Matt has led the company’s accounting and financial planning functions with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and long-term stewardship.
Born in Lubbock, Matt spent most of his early childhood in West Texas before his family moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where his parents felt called to the mission field. After ten years in Honduras, he returned to the United States and worked his way through college.
Following graduation, Matt joined Protiviti as a finance consultant, helping companies strengthen and streamline their financial reporting processes. He later held finance roles at RealPage and Signet Jewelers, gaining valuable experience in corporate finance and operational analysis.
A lifelong learner, Matt has continued to pursue the subjects he loves. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting from UT Dallas, an MBA with a concentration in finance from Texas Tech, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin. He is also both a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Public Accountant.
Away from the office, Matt loves keeping up with his four young kids, spending time with his wife, Ruth, playing basketball, and enjoying walks and family adventures.
